Picture Leftovers
The past few days have been interesting days photographically. Many images have been made, but without any commonality among the group. Instead of not sharing them, I will put them out like we do leftovers - no rhyme or reason - just enjoy what you want.
During part of today I was feeling artsy. When I saw these two logs in the water, I first noticed their reflection. By studying them from a bird’s-eye point of view their shadows jumped out at me. Since the lake holding these logs was a pea-soup green, I opted to remove all color and make a monochrome image. The faint diagonal lines are patterns in the green as the lake turns over.
Not far from the lake was a rail line heading north. Again, the color in the image was more distracting than beneficial, so I removed it.
Just for kicks and giggles I created a “Center of the Universe” image featuring the Highway 188 bridge.
While fished for northern pike tonight the movement of seven raccoons swimming across the river caught my attention. These were two of the seven.
As I moved quietly on the river one morning I noticed autumn leaves and bubbles on the water. Both made interesting compositions.
I will end with one of my favorite pictures of this week. This image was recorded early one morning as I drove east into the sun, toward our cabin, for time on the water. Our cabin is my “happy place.” This road is the “road to my happy place.” Fog made the short journey very attractive.
