Macro Studies With Gramps

Kristy and I had the honor of an overnight stay with one of our grandsons last night. Since weather conditions were not conducive to paddling or hiking, we instead studied an owl pellet and the bones found inside. This one pellet contained several jaw bones with teeth, along with an assortment of many other bones. Needless to say, the time spent dissecting this pellet was very interesting and worthwhile.

While I had the macro equipment set up I decided to do some photography on a house fly I disabled - rather that smashing. Photographing in sharp focus the eyes of a house fly is not nearly as easy as one might think! (Based on the fly’s leaning, I would guess I broke legs with the fly-swatter.)
