Views From Today

Very early this morning I went out exploring on the Wapsipinicon River and at Sweet Marsh. Even though I wasn’t out more than an hour or so, I was fortunate to see and photograph several interesting compositions.

One interaction included a great egret (one of seven). Notice in the first picture how the egret caught a small minnow and somehow tossed it back into its mouth without losing the minnow. It was almost as if the egret was playing with its food. I am amazed what wildlife can do when eating.

As you will notice, when possible I let shadows work for me.
