I Believe There Are Migrants Among Us

Other than the drab, gray/white sky today, there was much in the air, or on the ground, or on the water to photograph. Each of today’s images features a migrant species.

Certainly the most unusual was a snowy owl near Tripoli. I photographed it yesterday and hoped it would head north over night. That did not happen so I looked at it again through my lens. This time the owl was yawing.

At Sweet Marsh I saw my first black-crowned night heron of the year. (The only pics were from a long distance away.) Also observed were many white pelicans, waterfowl, a yellowlegs and sandhill cranes.
