Early Spring Wildflower Trifecta +1

This morning Layla and I took Kristy for a ride in hopes of finding an early spring wildflower trifecta. With our variable winter conditions I was not sure if finding three early spring species would be possible. But, after finding a dozen or so hepaticas yesterday, I thought success may come our way, so we traveled, hiked, and photographed.

Our efforts proved worthwhile after traveling through six counties and making plenty of stops - we found what we were looking for.

The “+1” for our efforts was this view of an adult bald eagle at the nest.

For the record… the strong winds blew Layla’s normally curly hair straight and made her snort. Layla - an old girl dog with no teeth, cataract-covered eyes, some deafness, a tongue that falls out, and very minimal ambition had a great time other than the wind and the walks (we had to carry her). She did good and was rewarded with a pup cup (ice cream) that she promptly snarfed down. Kristy was treated too!
