Canoeing for Trumpeter Swans

For my first paddle outing at Sweet Marsh for 2024 I was hopeful to see trumpeter swans, but there were no certainties. I paddled, I listened, I looked, and I quickly photographed a pair. Then I returned to the dock to give the swans plenty of space to do what swans do.

Also in the air were hundreds of greater white-fronted geese. The flocks circled and dropped lower, but then flew off to unknown destinations.
