Disappointing and Pleasing

Very early this morning a couple of the fine fellows from the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office contacted me about an injured barred owl. I drove down to pull the owl off the road and take it to a rehabber. Sadly, the injuries were too severe and the owl did not survive. We tried.

(Note: If anyone in or near Tripoli has an old fishing net (net in good condition) they might be interested in gifting to me for wildlife captures for rehab, I would be happy to rehome it.)

On a more happy note… this morning I enjoyed a quiet paddle on the Wapsipinicon River. One scene in particular was visible to me in its natural state - color and in my mind in black and white. I think I prefer the black and white and old tone.
