Testing a Prototype

Last week I picked up a trailer to convert to a kayak/canoe carrying trailer. (Yes, it had a sailboat on it that came home with me, but the primary use will be to transport canoes and kayaks.) My goal was to be able to use our Jeep to go paddling since the license plate is “Paddler.”

Over the past few days I have been modifying the trailer to haul my paddling vessels while at the same time leaving everything intact so I can use the trailer for the sailboat. Now, all I have to do is pull some bolts to remove the canoe carrier and I can haul the sailboat. Mission accomplished - I hope. My first test of the trailer was this afternoon and it worked fine.

Since I was putting a canoe on the trailer for testing, it only made sense that I put the canoe on the water first. On the water I shot a few pictures shown below.
