Waking With an Idea

After experiencing the smooth as glass water on the Wapsipinicon River yesterday morning, I have been thinking about some picture ideas based on expanding on that theme. I must have been really dwelling on the idea in my subconscious mind since I woke early today, skipped breakfast, and went to put my ideas into reality. Once I had the base image, I then worked with it to create the final photo I had in my head. My intent was something that said “paddling” and “wild” and “still.” This image captured it.

If I hadn’t mentioned the Wapsie, this photo may have suggested a wild place anywhere, including the BWCA.
