Enjoy the Easy Days

This wood duck was taking it easy on a log with two other woodies this morning. All I could think of was how today is easy, but challenging days are coming soon. There will be adding fat stores, migration, difficult weather, and hunting seasons in the near future to impact life as a duck. Maybe this duck will be back next year and maybe not.

Not too far from the ducks I found wildflowers decorating the landscape. Greens and yellows dominated the palette, but there were some reds and whites too.
