From an Assessment to a Vision of the Future

Every now and then I pull out and set up my camping equipment. This would be the gear I use for backpacking or wilderness paddling outings. Tonight I pulled out my tent to check it out.

I have to be honest, I have never found any problems when I set things up for inspection. It is reassuring to know all is well, but so far so good on damage discoveries. I still check things over periodically.

As I sat/lay in my tent looking things over - zippers, seams, material, I eventually ended my “official” reason for putting the tent up and just relaxed behind the bug netting as I watched the sun dropping toward the horizon.

Too much time has passed since my last wilderness trip. Life - work, family, scheduling conflicts - have complicated planning an outing. That said, I am hopeful before it gets cold I will get away at least once. Will it be carrying a backpack or paddling a canoe? I guess it doesn’t really matter how I move, I am just ready for wilderness.

That is how an assessment transitions to a vision!
