Some We Want, Some We Don’t
With the weather forecast strongly suggesting we might receive some much needed rain, tonight Kristy and I tossed more wildflower seeds in our prairie project. This is the third time for spreading seeds, so if many of our seeds from the multiple tossings get established, we might just have an explosion of color. Hopefully that will bring many bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
Now for the wild plants I am glad we do not have… I found this horsetail - one of several - that popped up along the edge of a gravel road. Anything that can work its way through a gravel road must be tough - like horsetail. Horsetail can dominate where suitable habitat exists. From what I have read this is a difficult species to get rid of.
I do not want the plant around, but this one did make for an interesting photo.
Yesterday I shot many wildflower photos. As I was making pictures I was also recording video. Click on this link to see the various wildflower pictures and comments.
