Not Missing Film

Between meetings today I stopped at George Wyth State Park to look around. From my truck I did not expect to see too much at close range, and that was what happened - nothing too close. I won’t complain though since I was treated to several wildlife observations that allowed for more distant imaging.

In the old days of film I would have recorded few pictures. Today though, I watched and waited for the common loon to stretch its wings - shooting pictures as it floated closer. It took some time, but eventually the loon did just that as it was coming toward the shore. I was happy I was shooting in digital format rather than film (like the old days) or today would have been very expensive.

Note - None of these pictures from today were exceptional due to distance and lighting. Still, it was fun to see each species.

For those who may not know, common loons are a northern bird, as in Northern Minnesota. This one will soon be leaving to fly to an area where I hope to paddle sometime or two this summer.
