This Is Layla

My walk with Kristy tonight had an extra four legs with it, at least for part of the time, when Layla joined us. Layla is our Shih Tzu with an ample list of issues - she is pretty much blind in one eye and headed that way in the other, is possessed with selective deafness, has no teeth, suffers from a tongue that falls out due to no teeth, occasionally drools, has a terrible attitude around most other dogs, and sports a somewhat wider chassis than is needed for the size of her head. Otherwise she can be a lovable little dog!

We took Layla on our walk so we could get her use to riding in her pet stroller. She needs the stroller since she lacks stamina unless she is chasing miniature marshmallows. For part of our walk Layla actually walked with us, albeit a bit slow and often distracted, but she tried. When she got tired Layla got to ride in the stroller. I guess if I wanted to rate Layla’s response to riding, I would give her a 5 out of 10.

During our walk I found and photographed an American coot. When a coot is all you see, a coot is all you photograph.

Other wildlife photos from today included common goldeneyes and a bald eagle trying to stay perched in the top of a conifer in the strong winds.
