Gramps and Grandma Camp

This weekend two of our grandkids had an opportunity for us to stay with them at their house for the day or them to stay with us for the weekend. Both chose camp at our house for the weekend. That meant it was time for special activities.

First we had our pancake flipping and catching for breakfast. Today was special when we made Funfetti pancakes, along with sausage and fruit. Only a couple of pancakes touched something other than plates - attributed to bad flips from Gramps. Afterwards our granddaughter and Kristy worked on crafts while our grandson and I went out looking for nature images.

The highlight, at least so far, has been setting up our family dome tent in the living room for a campout. Sleep will come later. For this afternoon the tent served as our wrestling ring when we weren’t playing games or doing things outside.

Needless to say, all of us are tired but are thoroughly enjoying the weekend.

By the way - this is the same tent our kids and us first camped in. Sometime this spring, summer, or fall we are going to take the grandkids tent camping so they can experience that simplicity.

In case you were wondering, this cold front really shut down easy bird opportunities. My grandson and I saw plenty of birds, but most were in areas protected from wind a long distance from us. Bald eagles were easiest to find and that was fine with my grandson.
