Not Bob Barker and “The Price is Right”

Well, it had to happen… some bug got me. I don’t know whether I am hosting some respiratory illness or “the vid.” Whatever it is, the bug has zapped my energy and rendered me pretty much useless. I am usually pretty healthy and seldom am taken down, especially on a warm day like today, so this is unusual.

When I was a kid, a day like today would have meant I was relegated to the couch to watch Bob Barker on The Price is Right. Sometimes I would also watch Andy Griffith, Bewitched, The Dating Game or The Newlywed Game. When I think back even further I remember watching Green Acres and Petticoat Junction. Those were the days of entertaining television.

Since none of those programs are easily found any more, I did not even turn regular TV on. I did, however, watch one YouTube video after another. Today’s topics were backpacking, how to best carry camera gear for comfort, and tips for flying a drone. Hour after hour of watching videos interrupted by short naps helped me in my goal of being the Valedictorian of YouTube University. According to my estimate, I think there might only be twelve or fourteen more drone videos to watch and I will have see all of them!

This image was something I have been wanting to make for a while. My goal was to record the sun setting while framed between our Norway spruce trees. I will be honest, the finished product does nothing for me. I tried, but this was all I got. With no moody clouds in the large expanse of sky, the picture is lacking much. Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be better.
