As I Explained

Wow! What a nice turnout and engaged audience for my nature photography presentation tonight! I sincerely appreciate so many of you taking time out of your schedules to look at photos, talk stories, and ask questions. I sure had fun!

Near the end of my presentation I explained how when I started my “Picture a Day” project eighteen years ago I wondered if I would find something each day to photograph. I mentioned that I quit worrying about finding a photo subject because something always came through.

Today, even tonight, I was not certain what image I would record and share with viewers. After all, it was dark, the day was long, and I had no picture to share. Then, as I drove into our yard I spotted a ‘possum in my headlights. I quickly grabbed my camera and flash and the chase was on!

I may be getting older and I certainly am not as fast as I used to think I was, but I do know I can still move quick enough to keep up with a ‘possum for a few pictures.

Tonight I share with you a photo of a ‘possum that moves slightly slower than an older guy in near complete darkness. Had I not heard it moving, the ‘possum would have escaped. This setting is not all natural, but hey…it was late at night and this was where we met. I got my picture of the day!
