Wrap-around Foreground/Background (with a bonus)

My path today intersected with this adult bald eagle in soybean stubble. I will admit, my first goal was to shoot a decent photo of the bird. It wasn’t until I studied the image on my computer that I realized the wrap-around foreground and background really added to the composition.

I am glad I was not perpendicular to the bird and the tilled rows in the stubble. The recorded angle leads the eye to the bird and around the frame rather than abrupt angle changes.

Now let’s talk about something worth mentioning in the photo. The green cast during a winter picture is cover crop. Cover crops help to protect water and crop nutrients. The producer on this land has gone to an extra effort since cover crops are not free, nor do they always work out. Thank you!
