Whatever You Wish
More often than not the theme for my picture of the day is obvious. When I photograph wildlife the image idea is generally straight-forward - something about the species or how my path crossed with the critter.
Somedays my image for the day is more reflective. Yes, a viewer could put a box around the image with a clearly defined description. Or, as I am finding with today’s photo, sometimes there are many correct captions (or moods) for the image.
Prairie at Sunrise - Image 942275
What was I thinking when I pressed the shutter release on this composition? Was this a time of great joy for a “warm” rising sun highlighting a sparkling prairie? Maybe my thoughts were focused on a pheasant taking flight or a whitetail on the run with a backdrop of a rising sun over a prairie. Either description might be accurate.
The reality for this composition was my mood and energy level were both lower than normal. My motivation was just beginning to build rather than jumping out of bed with my feet running when they hit the floor. Do not misunderstand - nothing was bothering me, I just was taking my time to get going.
That said, when I saw the glistening prairie with a rising sun greeting me, it did not take long to point a lens at the beauty before me. I went into “photography” mode combined with my “Nature Rx” zone to document the scene. The combined activity and therapy was the nudge I needed to make the best of another day here on the dirtball we call Earth.
This was one of those images you can make anything out of it you wish!
