Piercing Eyes

No matter how many times I see them up close, the piercing eyes of birds of prey impress me. Whether they are the eyes of a falcon, owl, hawk, or eagle, those eyes grab your attention. I wonder if the prey species view human eyes the same - as a threat or at least of something to be wary of. Or, do they recognize our shape/actions and that is enough to cause a reaction?
