Seeing Something Different
Some days I am in a mood that wildlife and or clear-view scenic images simply do not interest me, unless the animal species is either uncommon or common and engaged in some activity that is unusual. Today there were no “special” images garnering my attention so I worked more on an artistic image. By the time I had this file ready to share, I decided I really like it.
Take a look at this photo. There is much going on - moving water that is blurred smooth, moving water that is not quite sharp - but not smooth, autumn leaves, and color that cover the gamut from dark to bright and shiny. There are ample textures too that attract a viewer’s eye. And, the focus is just enough to have key compositional elements sharp while the remainder of the image hints at what is being seen without dominating. I find my eyes circling the picture to study detail and implied motion.
As I looked at this photo I was thinking it might be the type of work that hangs in a hotel room, a business lobby, or maybe even a home - especially if printed large and on metal.
Here you go - a picture from today that I really like.
