Fall Colors and Rain = Wow!

For the most part I am like most people and not a fan of rainy days. If I could make it happen, I would have rain occur only during the overnight hours and every day would be dry. But, that is not the case so I find ways to appreciate wet days.

Over the past couple of weeks I have been watching a river bottom scene and a sprig of maple leaves. The scene is just something I find interesting. The maple sprig is producing some of the brightest orange leaves I have seen in a long time. I knew both had the potential of being key parts of fall color photos.

Today, when I saw both the scene and the sprig in the rain, the colors were even more vibrant than other days. Rain shower or not, both compositions called out to be recorded, so I did. Here both images are in all of their colors. An electronic display does not do either image justice, but it is close.
