Legends in the Shadows

Everyone reading this should be happy they were not following me today when I spotted a stand of aspen trees. Had you been behind me, you would have seen me slow down and turn around so I could memorialize this small, but beautiful, stand of trees.

From a quick glance you see the white bark and yellow leaves. If you study the image details, you will notice the “parent” tree(s) standing in the shadows. Since most aspens are clones of parent trees, it would be difficult to see genetic differences between the smaller diameter trees and the older trees hidden deeper in this grove.

Parent trees, clones, or new trees…it does not matter to me. This grouping of aspen trees was pretty and I had to photograph it.
