I Was Looking

Today’s dark, dreary, drab conditions made finding acceptable outdoor photography compositions less than easy. Possible landscape scenes were “blah” at best. I found no wildlife within reach of a long lens to photograph. Really, I was challenged.

Then, as I was looking over the renovation work at Sweet Marsh, I spotted a stand of white-barked trees. I had seen the outer trees many times before. I just did not know how many were thriving surrounded by a few conifers and other deciduous trees. From my vantage point the trees really stood out. I knew I had my picture for the day.

Those who know me probably remember I have a fondness for any of the many tree species with white bark. To have an opportunity to photograph them in this setting made this even more special. Once home I tweaked the image to produce the final work I visualized as the image was recorded. This was it!
