Like I Used To See

Years ago we were subscribers to National Geographic magazine. Each month the magazine with the yellow border on the cover would introduce me to far away lands, wildlife, or views of common areas seldom seen by ordinary people. As I studied the pages I would think about how fascinating it would be to shoot for National Geographic - either from the ground or the air.

Fast-forward to now. I never made it to being published in National Geographic - but I never tried either. Some of my images have, however, been similar to what I used to see on those glossy print pages. One view that I have not been able to emulate has been their aerial views. Now that is changing as I fly a drone with a decent camera over some of my favorite areas.

In this series you will see Alcock Park in Frederika in the winter. Alcock Park is closed to vehicle traffic - at least wheeled vehicles. By air though I can look around and see very different views of a popular park.

None of these reach National Geographic quality, but I do find them interesting.
