Playing with Emotions

Yes, I know this is just a dead sunflower in dirt. Sure, I know that sunflowers live one season and are done. But, doesn’t the positioning of the sunflower in the dirt almost make the scene look sad, as if something had been alive and thriving and simply dropped over onto the earth? The view appears as though, had we rushed in and done something, the sunflower would still be alive - as if we could have saved it. Doesn’t this picture play with emotions or is it just me?

It is good to see the birds have found the seeds. Maybe they will get through the winter a little bit easier.
