Cold Conditions with Contentment

Days before a family member and I traveled to the healing spot to the north I was thinking about this composition. Yes, I have featured this tree before, but no - not in snowy, blustery conditions as we had this afternoon.

Since the weather was providing us conditions different than normal this afternoon, we stopped to record the moment. After all, I would never drive the miles to capture this scene in snowfall. At home I then removed what little color was in the file to accurately reflect what we were seeing - a cold, unwelcoming scene in a Minnesota winter.

While the scene was far from inviting, together we were content. We had a pleasant (but long) day and all was as good as could be expected. We were content… cold, but content.

I do have another idea that I will try when the time is right.
