As Most of Us Groaned

As most of us groaned (or worse) from the comfort of our homes about this blizzard we are enduring, our wildlife is toughing it out, however they do it.

I went for a short drive for two reasons - to assure I could get to a highway if needed for work, and to look for wildlife under these blustery conditions. I did make it to a highway and I did find wildlife.

Yesterday I mentioned wanting to find horned larks, Lapland longspurs and snow buntings. Today I found two of the three with only the snow buntings eluding me. I will keep looking! (Photos not perfect due to the weather conditions.)

Along the highway I noticed maybe a hundred or more Canada geese along the edge of a field. Why they were there, in such an exposed area, is a question I cannot answer.

While I was out I also shot a couple of scenic images. Both compositions have been featured before, but not recorded in blizzard conditions.
