At Least One is Here, There are Probably More
A friend called today to tell me a green heron had arrived in our area. One green heron having arrived back after the spring migration is a good thing and expected. Are there more in the area…probably. It will just be a stroke of luck if/when I find more. Trust me, I will be watching.
This green heron was successfully “fishing” for minnows. During its feeding I was able to document the consumption of several minnows. Unfortunately, the lighting was far from ideal. In fact, I was so disappointed in the lighting that my preferred images of the heron were of the bird when it rested in nearby trees.
Maybe I will see the bird again this summer, maybe not. Either way I enjoyed watching it.
