Providing Before You Ask!
Regular visitors to this site know that I like to share information while also providing a little entertainment via images of nature or the outdoors. I am not always successful in my efforts, but I give it my best. Tonight I was lucky to have an opportunity to educate while sharing photos.
As I explored the river I came across a large northern water snake stretched out on a log in the water. From my canoe I was able to photograph the entire snake, as long as I backed up far enough, as shown in the first picture. Knowing visitors to this site would want to see a picture of the snake close-up, I moved in with my canoe and switched to a longer lens to capture the second image. By the way, this was a long snake!
