Hey…I am a Nice Guy!
During my travels today I developed an uneasy feeling that I was not liked or my presence was not appreciated. In a 100-yard stretch of road that often hosts a variety of wild critters on both sides and in the air above I found birds and a snake and none of them cooperated with me for wildlife photography.
This great blue heron slowly but steadily worked its way away from me.

A couple of turkey vultures flew low and close, sniffed the air, and moved on. (Might be a good thing?)

This eastern kingbird fidgeted around on the power line and took off for destinations unknown.

And this northern water snake was the epitome of disrespectful behavior. Some drivers would have ended its life as it stretched itself on the traveled portion of the road. (This snake was long – as in measured in feet long!). I avoided driving over the snake but did get out to shoot some pictures. It didn’t take long before the snake coiled itself and began jumping quickly at me. Really snake…what did I do to you?

Earlier in the day, when the wildlife accepted me, I had a few seconds of fun watching this whitetail deer fawn frolic in a shallow stream. Nobody can convince me animals don’t enjoy themselves every now and then.
