A Fleeting Glimpse…Planning For The Worst

As I type these words my head is nearly spinning from another very busy and productive day. By productive I am referring to having gotten a lot of work done at work (as it should be!). As for nature/outdoor photography – not so much. In fact, I shot very few pictures and only of a juvenile bald eagle that did a couple of circles over me. The bird appeared and then was gone. Maybe it tired of fighting our relentless, unmerciful wind?

Kudos to the Wartburg College CERT Class of 2017. Today’s topic was “Light Search and Rescue” and in this topic we learn very basic skills that we hope we will never need to use.

CERT is a preparedness class that addresses most types of personal emergencies. Each year a small group of Leadership students participate in the program. We cover eight topics including first aid, fire safety, light search and rescue, Incident Command, terrorism, and disaster psychology. CERT is a good program for all folks and I highly recommend it!
