Those Were Not Illusions…Yes Indeed, Signs of Spring are Here!
With today’s temperatures nearly 70-degrees warmer than last week’s, I took some time to scrape away ice and snow from the sidewalks. As I worked my way around our ponderosa, I noticed that several of the trees and shrubs in our yard have sprouted buds. In fact, the European mountain ash buds are very well developed already. (STAY AWAY ASH BORERS!)
Our lilac has also begun to shown new growth.
Near the end of my scraping project a single small feather in the melting snow caught my attention. At first glance it was just another feather, one of countless feathers I have seen during a lifetime. But when I looked close at the tiny feather, I noticed the many textures, the reflections of light, and the intricate detail from edge to edge. I considered the insignificant object a blessing and used it for an interesting photo subject.
