What A Full Day
Today’s balmy (relatively speaking) weather was great. It was warm enough for all of us to be outside, at least for some of the day. I am surprised how many activities I was able to pack into a short daylight period. The day began with a brief ice fishing trip. Instead of fishing where I normally do at Sweet Marsh, I gave it a try in a completely different area. I was fishing over weeds and my jig no more than hit the water and it was hammered. I didn’t catch that fish, so I twitched the jig a little bit. In no time I pulled in this nice largemouth bass. I learned my ice fishing hole was almost too small to pull the fish through.
Shortly after I caught the fish, I learned that our son was on his way up to go hunting. My plans changed, but it was worthwhile to be able to spend time outdoors with Zach.
After lunch Zach, Hannah, Kristy, and I took Emerson to a small hill near the Sweet Water Creek. There Emerson enjoyed her first sledding experience. We weren’t sure whether she had fun or not. I never did see her smile, but she didn’t cry either. The fresh air did help her sleep very well for her afternoon nap. The bigger kids went sledding too.
We ended the day with a brief Christmas visit with some family and church. I think it is fair to say I plan to sleep very well tonight!
