What You Are Not Seeing
After a most challenging day in Rochester – much of the uncertainty being just getting there early in the day (before the plows had been out) – my family member and I enjoyed a very unusual bald eagle observation during the drive home. Featured below is a bald eagle that was dining on a very fresh gut pile from a road-killed animal just out of view from my vantage point. The blood-bath gourmet was inviting enough for the eagle that it did not fly away when I stopped the car. Instead, the eagle allowed me to shoot a variety of slightly different poses at very close range.
After many long hours with several unknowns, this beautiful bird was a very-much welcomed distraction that broke up the drive home.
