Recently my cousin’s son developed an interest in photography. At this time it appears he enjoys wildlife/outdoor photography, but he has done well with still life images too. For just starting, he is producing very nice images.
Last week he shared pictures of a red-shouldered hawk he was able to photograph at close range. He and I chatted about the bird and that species as I explained that red-shouldered hawks are a species of concern or threatened in Iowa. From what he told me, there are many red-shouldered hawks where he lives near the east coast. I asked that he send some my way since I don’t see that species of hawk too often.
Today I lucked out and found a beautiful red-shouldered hawk perched in a tree not far from the road. Of course I stopped the truck to photograph the bird. As I was shooting my pictures, I was thinking…”My turn!”
