So Much Effort, So Much Disappointment
Today a good number of people combined efforts using their various skills to assist a public safety department with a response effort. A buddy and I spent hours on a river searching for clues as many others worked hillsides. After eight miles of paddling and hours on the hills our groups ended the various efforts without a clear resolution.
There are no words that adequately describe the disappointment of ending a hard day of work without answers. We have so many possibilities, but can prove nothing to bring resolution. It is frustrating and discouraging, yet rewarding knowing we did our best.
As we worked the river we enjoyed the company of many bald eagles. Only once were we in a position that I could pick up a camera to change my attention, albeit for a very brief split second, to make a photograph.
