Tonight I spent a couple of hours sitting in dry grass along Sweet Marsh watching probably hundreds of ducks, a couple of trumpeter swans, and three dozen or more sandhill cranes as they flew in to roost for the night. The sky was filled with activity coming and going from all directions. Sandhill cranes could be heard occasionally, ducks were calling often, and Canada geese never seem to go silent.
It was a fun night that ended with a couple of friends coming in from the opposite direction I approached to enjoy the same spring spectacle.
Since the light levels were very low, it was difficult to shoot decent pictures. I recorded images only of this ring-billed gull and trumpeter swans.
