Continuing a Family Tradition- Part 2
Yesterday I shared pics and the story of our annual Christmas tree hunt and other traditional Thanksgiving activities. Today two of our four grandchildren completed another family tradition task – they decorated our small white Christmas tree that occupies a corner of the bathroom. This tree is always decorated with outdoor-type decorations – canoes, birds, a camper, and the like, with maybe a few decorations made by our kids or grandkids. Balanced or not, we let the grandkids decorate the tree and it stays just as they decorated it. The holiday work of our young kids is just fine for us. They will grow up and decoration symmetry soon enough. We like the trees as they are as decorated by the young people! (Hopefully next year we will have all four grandkids hanging decorations.)
Oh, there might be one decorating detail that will take time to get used to. One of the decorations is a family picture featuring our family – grandkids, kids and their families, and my mother-in-law. The decoration is fine. It’s the idea that any time someone sits on the toilet, our entire family is watching them!
