Season End?

Maybe or maybe not…was today’s paddling on Indian Pond on the Wapsipinicon River my last for 2019? According to weather forecasts, overnight temperatures for later this week could drop to only 16-degrees. Those conditions might possibly convert the open water in front of our cabin to hard water (ice), effectively ending the 2019 paddling season at Indian Pond.

Knowing the end of the paddling season may be near, I dropped my kayak into the water this afternoon. No wildlife was seen and with gray skies there were no scenic images to photograph. My only padding images were “action shots” recorded by my GoPro camera.

This morning Kristy found this red-tailed hawk in a tree on our drive to church. A quick stop of the car meant I was able to photograph the nice looking bird.
