Pardon My Absence, I Was Away Being “Dampa”
Regular visitors to my site may have noticed I have not provided an updated post since Thursday. I have a great excuse…I was away being “Dampa” for our 2 1/2 and 5-month old grandsons. What a treat it was, albeit a busy one!
Since the weather was nice we spent the day at the “Center Grove Orchard” near Cambridge, Iowa. For hours and hours there was something fun to do with little people and big people and I think we did almost everything we could. There comes a point with young ones when you finally have to go home to recharge.
Following are pictures from the weekend with the boys and our daughter:
Since I was close, I did take a little time to explore at the Raccoon River Park. There was little special to see, but it was fun to hike a different trail.
Along the trail I found one of the last goldenrod blossoms at the park. It was covered in bees and flies.
Not far away was wasp nest hanging in a tree.
During the drive home Kristy and I stopped by the Saylorville Reservoir spillway. The only birds seen at close range were ring-billed gulls.
