Joining Me on the Wapsipinicon River

As I paddled my kayak tonight on the Wapsipinicon River, I thought I was alone.

If I refer only to humans, I had the river to myself except for Dan. Our paths crossed very briefly before I paddled into backwater where I thought I might have barred owls join me. It wasn’t until I was working my way back that my “Who cooks for you” owl calling elicited a response. Then I had two barred owls moving down the river with me.
