Determination

This time of year impresses me when I see new vegetation emerge from the soil and push through leaf clutter remaining from last year. Even though often the forced growth through the leaf litter often results in the new growth being bound and distorted, the plants still push upward toward the sun and a future of blossoms and pollination.

In our yard today I noticed several daffodils that were constricted by last year’s leaves that had not decayed into the ground.
