Time for a Drive
Sometimes a change of scenery is a good thing. It clears the mind, relaxes the body, and usually recharges a person. Today I attempted such a make-over by exploring some trout streams outside of Backbone State Park. As usual, I caught no trout. In fact, I believe the fish were taunting me by looking at my bait, following it briefly, and then ignoring it. I even checked a spot where a friend had luck and saw no fish there. (For those not familiar with trout fishing in Iowa…you can often see the fish in the streams. When I say there were no fish, I literally saw no fish!)
If I gauge the success of the outing by the fish I brought home, then the trip was a flop. However, if the time spent exploring and looking around was rewarding, then the day was good.
In my travels I saw many bald eagles near Backbone State Park. I apologize for the gray/white sky…I made the best of what was presented.
