Oh Deer!

Although it seems like it happened overnight, the sudden visibility of whitetail deer really coincides with two occurrences of several weeks duration – the harvest of crops and the dropping of leaves. In just a couple of weeks the deer lost many of their hiding places resulting in them now being much easier to see. A third detail – the rut, has also caused deer to move deer around for easy sightings.

As long as the whitetails remain off the roads, I enjoy seeing them in our landscape. Today I had only one deer dash in front of me as I was traveling. The deer featured here were in safe areas and caused no sudden foot pressure on the brakes of the truck.
