Habitat is Key
Provide the correct elements needed for survival, in the appropriate amounts, and you may just see wildlife.
I certainly never expected the water retention pond at Walmart to be the necessary habitat for a green heron, but apparently it is, at least for now. This green heron was perched on the fence surrounding the retention pond watching the Walmart shoppers go by.

For a second example…
I was driving out of a gravel/grassy area and saw not one, but two (a mother and young) thirteen-lined ground squirrels in the grass. Obviously conditions must be satisfactory for reproduction and the successful rearing of at least one young ground squirrel.
I did not realize ground squirrels can provide “warm” moments, but these two did when they nuzzled a couple of times.
