Image of Creature From the Wapsipinicon River Recorded!
I spend much time on the Wapsipinicon River. Sometimes, especially during the dark of night, I hear noises on the river. Often I am unable to identify the source of the noise. Interestingly, I cannot remember the last time I heard an unidentified noise during the day. It’s as if whatever is making the noise is lurking under water, avoiding being seen.
Today, perhaps due to low light levels from heavy clouds and mist, I may have recorded images of the being that makes the mysterious noises. I am not sure how it can see without any visible eyes. Here it is, the “Fungitree Beast!”
I had never seen it before and fortunately for me, it was was non-threatening. The Fungitree was immobile, possibly attempting to avoid recognition, but I spotted it and photographed it!
Not far from the Fungitree Beast I noticed a splash of color on vivid green moss. I believe the splash was, literally, a splash at one time of urine from one of the many raccoons that use the tree for their potty tree. The pattern did make for an interesting image. (Maybe the Fungitree goes there too?)
