Can the Weekend Be Extended by One Day?

Somewhere, on the books in a secret place, there must be a rule that says if Friday and Saturday are mostly rain and Sunday is a near-perfect day, then the weekend should be extended by one day to include Monday. Trust me, if I could find such a regulation I would make it well known, especially after today. Gorgeous weather from sunrise to sunset meant conditions were ideal for being outside. I was one of many who took advantage of the conditions.

My day began with a hike around Casey Lake at Hickory Hills Park. Most of my photos were of scenery, even though I did see an osprey, a flock of blue-winged teal, and several wild turkeys. What an invigorating start to the day…a sunrise hike in a pretty place!

This afternoon and early evening I enjoyed a pretty sunset over Indian Pond on the Wapsipinicon River. There really aren’t words to adequately explain how nice it was on the water.

On Friday I paddled in the fog on Casey Lake. This link will take you to a video of the outing:
